Iris: privacy
Iris is a private assistant used by one person, her owner. This page says what she does with what she reads from Google.
What she reads
Gmail messages and Google Calendar entries, from the Google accounts her owner signs her in to. She asks Google for two permissions only: to read mail and to read calendar entries. She cannot send, delete or change anything.
Where it is kept
On her owner's own computer and the drive attached to it. She has no server of her own.
Who sees it
Her owner. Nothing is sold, nothing is used for advertising, and nothing is passed to anyone for a purpose of their own.
One thing can leave that computer. To make sense of what she has read, she may hand its words to an AI service that her owner has chosen and holds an account with, under that account's own terms. They go nowhere else.
How long it is kept
Until her owner removes it.
Ending it
Her owner can sign her out at any time in her own settings, or remove her in the Google Account's list of connected apps. From then on she can read nothing more at Google.
Questions
Iris has no users besides her owner, so this page gives no contact address.
